Zak -

It seems like you came across someone's profile who is going through job recruitment. I know a lot of people who have had to "clean" their profiles in order to portray themselves in a respectable light. I always wondered how that would affect how others perceive them. This blog was a good answer to my speculation. If you had actually known this person on a friendlier basis do you think you would make different assertions of your 'friend's' personality?

Nice post.

It's amazing how much can be assessed from someone's Facebook profile. I'm also guilty of the "no picture" thing and I'm not a terribly social person, so perhaps that does correspond.

I was actually pretty horrified to learn employers will often try to find you on Facebook, so I keep mine as clean as possible (when I use it) aside from general silliness because I know that peopel form very firm impressions based on what little information is there. It makes sense that, if he is indeed going through job recruitment, he'd only supply the basics.
